Our Strategic Plan
In recent years No Smoking Day has undergone a major strategic review of its structure, relevance and impact. The Day has been operating for over a quarter of a century and the environment in which No Smoking Day operates has changed considerably in this time.
Our strategy reflects this new environment in which we operate, and the new challenges we face.
The overriding strategic priority for No Smoking Day is to build upon the strengths of the Day and to stretch the impact of the campaign.
The following strategic objectives are all set within this context:
- To review and optimise the relationship and role of members towards the No Smoking Day charity and campaign
- Give the No Smoking Day charity a clear profile as the organisation behind the campaign
- Ensure access to optimal skills to achieve longer-term objectives
- To support smokefree legislation, particularly in the context of supporting smokers who want to stop as a consequence of legislation
- To ensure the No Smoking Day campaign recognises and supports the reduction of health inequalities caused by tobacco use
- To maintain and develop No Smoking Day's reputation as an evidence-based effective public health intervention
The charity will review its strategic plan for the next three years during 2008.
Our strategy reflects this new environment in which we operate, and the new challenges we face.
