Organiser of the Year Awards 2012
Tell us about your brilliant events and activities for No Smoking Day 2012 and you could be a winner in our Organiser of the Year awards!
The awards celebrate the imaginative and innovative ways that you use the campaign to reach out to smokers and help them achieve a healthier way of life. We have lots of categories for entries, so choose the one that seems to be best for your event or activity - we might also consider it for another category if we think it fits.
We're accepting entries now; the closing date is Friday 27 July.
What we're looking for: evidence of good planning, making the most of whatever resources you had, publicising your events to attract your target group and get media coverage; and results - how many quitters you signed up, how many lung age tests you did, how many entries for a competition - you get the picture! We like photos, press cuttings, media clips, web links, podcasts, and evaluations.
The winner in each category will receive a voucher worth £50 to spend on merchandise for No Smoking Day 2013, and will be presented with a lovely certificate in autumn 2012. Runners-up get £25 vouchers and certificates.

- Most unusual/innovative event
- Best activity on a small budget (under £100)
- Best use of the 2012 Take the leap! theme
- Best use of a 'Big Cig' costume*
- Best Armed Forces activity
- Best community/local partnership activity
- Best education setting activity - includes early years, schools and colleges
- Best pharmacy activity
- Best prison activity
- Best health setting activity (dentist, health centre, hospital, optician etc.)
- Best workplace activity
* The winner in the "Best use of a 'Big Cig' costume" category will receive £50 of GASP vouchers, kindly donated by GASP Smokefree Solutions.
